Hexagram
A hexagram is a six-pointed star drawn with six straight strokes.
There are two kinds of hexagram:
Hexagram, {6/2} star polygon
Unicursal Hexagram
The hexagram usually is symmetrical, formed by two overlapping equilateral triangles.
The most famous thereof is the Star of David, (Shield of David, Solomon's Seal, or Seal of Solomon) a traditional Jewish symbol and recognized as the symbol of Judaism. It is also known colloquially as the Jewish Star. With the establishment of the State of Israel the Jewish Star on the flag of Israel has also become a symbol of Israel.
It is possible that it was the Kabbalah that derived the symbol from the Templars. Kabbalah makes use of this sign, arranging the Ten Sephiroth (curtains or dimensions), in it, and placing it on amulets. 6 of the Sfirot are combined and called the 99%, which is the spiritual realm we wish to reconncet to again (the 1% is our human perception of reality in this universe).
A wide spread interpretation is: the triangle pointing downwards represents the female and the triangle pointing upwards represents male; the combination is representing unity and harmony. In alchemy, the two triangles represent the reconciliation of the opposites of "fire" upward, and "water" downwards. The hexagram, like the pentagram, was and is used in practices of the occult (esoteric) as well as Satanism.
Latin occultus = hidden, referring to the 'knowledge of the secret' or 'knowledge of the hidden' and often meaning 'knowledge of the supernatural'. The ancient Greek term for occult is esoteric.
Satanism is a religious, semi-religious and/or philosophical movement whose adherents recognize Satan, either as an archetype, literal being, pre-cosmic force, or anything in between
In the Hindu religion, the hexagram is called the Shatkona. A typical combination often found in a YANTRA (geometric design acting as a highly efficient tool for contemplation, concentration and meditation) is the superposition of two triangles, one pointing upwards and the other downwards, forming the six pointed star SHATKONA. This form represents the union of PURUSHA and PRAKRITI or SHIVA-SHAKTI, without which there could be no Creation.
Unicursal Hexagram
The unicursal hexagram can be drawn in one continuous movement (unicursally) with 6 straight strokes. Continuous lines are preferred in magick compared to an interrupted movement. The symbol was devised by the Golden Dawn, and later adapted by the magician Aleister Crowley as a device of personal significance. He used the unicursal hexagram and placed a 5-pedal rose in the center, 6 + 5 = 11, representing the number of divine union. It is often worn by Thelemites as a sign of religious identification and recognition. (Thelema = philosophical/religious system established in 1904 by A, Crowley).

Number 6
The six is built on 2 triangles, representing two poles as well as the principal of twin flames, "two merging together", and the never ending task how they relate to each other.
In Indian philosophy it's seen as Shiva and and his wife Shakti, both representing the static and dynamic principal. In the Kabbalah it is Salomon and Shulamit, and so forth, the expression of ecstatic love found in a divine amorous play.
Therefore, the sound affinity between six and sex is no coincidence. Six is the number of sexual power, the reconnecting force between body and soul, female and male, plus and minus, yin and yang, fire and water.
The desire for ecstasy and climax as a motivator in human sexual activity is a mirror for soul's desire to merge again with its creator. Consciously or not, it is the brief moment of unity what the lovers are seeking for. Procreation is the outcome, creating new vessels for souls to move in and having the chance to walk on this wonderful earthly plane.
It is almost needless to say, why this powerful number has been chosen by those who feel attraction to the misuse of power, calling their activities satanic, black magic, voodoo, etc.
But, to make it perfectly clear, a number per se can NOT be bad. 666 for example is exactly what you think about it, and you need to examine where your thoughts were coming from! Do you really feel deep within whether it's a bad or good number? Did you read somewhere about the supposedly meaning, or did you see it in movies? The hammer is not a devilish tools just because someone somewhere has killed with it. <Smile when you see 666...>
666
wikipedia.org:
While most manuscripts of the Bible read six-hundred-sixty-six or 666 for the Number of the Beast in Revelation 13:18, some early manuscripts contain 616 instead. Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus (5th century) and Papyrus 115 (3rd or 4th century). Irenaeus knew about the reading 616 - A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, New York: United Bible Societies. ISBN 3-438-06010-8., p. 751, Irenaeus "says that 666 'is found in all good and ancient copies,' and is 'attested by those who had themselves seen John face to face'." The minuscule manuscript 2344 (11th century) identifies the Number of the Beast as 665.
In May 2005 it was reported that scholars at Oxford University using advanced imaging techniques had been able to read previously illegible portions of an early (third century) version of the Book of Revelation, part of its Oxyrhynchus collection of papyri. The fragment gives the Number of the Beast as 616. Scholars now believe the number in question has very little to do with the devil. It was actually a complicated numerical riddle in Greek, meant to represent someone's name. "It's a number puzzle -- the majority opinion seems to be that it refers to [the Roman emperor] Nero."
