How to use an e-book
(electronical book) |
When you have received your ordered e-book, you will see in your email the icon for attachments (red circle in the example).

In your email-browser click on the attachment icon and "Save attachment..." to any place on your hard disk, in most cases the folder "My documents".

Go to your folder and open this file by double click. |

On the left side of the Acrobat Reader software you can choose either "Bookmark" or "Thumbnail".
In this example you see the bookmark list. By clicking on any of the titles you can easy switch back and forth between all pages of the e-book. |

In this example (above) you see at the bottom of the Reader software even more options to switch between the pages.
Page # : click the little arrows to go forward or backward in your e-book.
Page View:
- - - • the first little square shows only one page per view
- - - • the second little icon (with 2 little squares) shows the text flowing
- - - - from the top to the bottom of the e-book
- - - • the third little icon (with 4 little squares) will show you 4 pages per view

In this example you see the Find.. function in the Edit menu (red circle). It is almost needless to say that you can search of course by word or phrase, too. |

- Printable: Most publishers do not allow Adobe e-books to be printed.
- Mac OS Compatible: All titles require Adobe Reader 5.x, which requires Mac OS 9.x and above.
- Windows Compatible: Yes. Win 98/SE/ME/2000/XP
- Handheld Compatible: Adobe Reader supports transfer of e-books to PalmOS devices, but not to Pocket PC or Symbian devices.
